Apply for renting support online
If you’re having difficulty paying your rent due to financial challenges, you can apply for support online.
A Rental Security Subsidy can help if you’re having difficulty paying your rent due to short-term financial challenges.
Instead of visiting a Queensland Government Housing Service Centre to apply, you can now check your eligibility and apply online – and get a quick response to your application.
The subsidy covers part of your rent and is paid directly to your landlord or property manager.
There are 2 options:
o Rental Security Subsidy General – rent can be subsidised for a maximum of 2 years.
o Rental Security Subsidy for young people – rent subsidised for a maximum of 4 years if you are 25 years old or under, and are the primary or legal tenant.
Eligibility for the subsidy is based on factors such as total household income and your circumstances.
As part of the Homes for Queenslanders plan, the Queensland Government is making it faster and easier for customers to apply for housing and renting support.
It is improving the way housing and renting services are delivered by making products easier to apply for and access.
